Olga's Cottage

Olga's Cottage is located in the quiet mountain village of Kato Akourdahlia overlooking the wide Chryssochou valley in the northwest corner of Cyprus.

This lovely stone house stands in a beautiful country setting and is surrounded by nature and birdsong. Built more than 200 years ago, the house has been owned by the same family for generations. The house contains a large sitting room and fitted kitchen, TV, washing machine, three bedrooms, modern bathroom and is comfortably furnished. The house is ideal for a family and will accommodate up to six persons.

The cottage offers optimum privacy inside a walled courtyard where there is plenty of patio space, much of it shaded by an ancient olive tree. At one end of the house there is a traditional village oven that still works and a traditional grape press. Over the low walls of the courtyard there is a panoramic view of the Chryssouchou Valley.

Olga's Cottage is an excellent retreat into the remote hills of Cyprus. The immediate area of Kato Akourdahlia offers a number of country roads to wander and explore. On the edge of the village is a small museum and a short hike from the cottage is the medieval chapel of Ayia Paraskevi and the restored old miller's house.

The little town of Polis tis Chryssochou and Latchi port, beautiful beaches, fish tavernas and archaeological sites are but a 10-15 minute drive away. Further along the western coast lies the beckoning wilderness of the Akamas peninsula.
