We have been travelling around the world for almost 4 months since our engagement December 23rd, 2001. We are looking for paid crew positions as deck hands or stewards. Didi is 30, English and a qualified lawyer in Information Technology & Intellectual Property. I am 33, Canadian and spent the past 2 years living and working in England as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative for GlaxoSmithKline. In February 2002 we applied to emigrate to Australia. We decided to leave our jobs and travel while we wait for our application to be processed (12-15 months).

We both have sailing experience and I have extensive long haul experience. In December 1999 I crossed the Gulf stream and crewed through the Bahamas to Nassau for over a month. I then joined a 55-Ft French catamaran and sailed to Cuba with a French captain and a Belgian 1st mate. In June 2000 I completed a trans-atlantic crossing from Miami-Bermuda-Azores aboard a 32 Ft Jeaunau with a friend (Yes it was crazy!). From there I joined a 45 Ft British yacht and helped an older English couple who were returning from the Caribbean. In July 2000 I crewed aboard a Sigma 38 during England’s famous 'Cowes Week Sailing Regatta' (the world's largest regatta). I also chartered a 42 Ft Catamaran in Split, Croatia with my brother and friends for a weeks holiday during the summer of 2001. Didi grew up sailing a 16Ft Topper with her father on Lake Hamilton, Arkansas USA. She has also participated in ‘Cowes Week Sailing Regatta’ aboard a 40Ft sloop representing DAC also in 2000. Last summer she had an intensive and enjoyable sailing holiday aboard a 32Ft sloop in Turkey.
